Indians celebrate the National Science Day on 28 February yearly. This day marks the discovery of Raman Effect by Indian physicist Sir Chandrashekhara Venkata Raman on 28 February 1928. Therefore, he was rewarded Noble Prize in Physics IN 1930. Every year, Indians celebrate this day to widely spread a message about the Importance of science used in the daily life of the people.As well as, each year, they have a specific theme for the National Science Day: Chemistry in Daily Life (2011), Clean Energy Options and Nuclear Safety (2012), Genetically Modified Crops and Food Security (2013) and so on. Notably, various Indian scientists got the global recognition due to their work. Sir Chandrashekhara Venkata Raman is one of those noblemen; he invented the “Raman Effect” which studied the scattering of light in liquids, solids and gases. For his invention, he received ”the Noble Prize for Physics” in 1930. Therefore, the government of India dedicated 28 February as the National Science Day from 1999.
